I remind myself to be grateful. I’m grateful for pretty much for everything these days. I’m old enough to understand how good I have it. To understand how blessed I am and how lucky I am. It’s easy to take things for granted and I’m just as guilty as anyone of this but I try to re-center myself often.

Those of us who are lucky enough to have been born in or live in first world countries have it far better than most. Just the ability to turn on and have running water let alone drinking water is an incredible privilege and resource we must not squander or take for granted.

Gratitude will keep you humble and happy. Come back to reality and realize that even when things are tough, they are still incredibly good. Remind yourself often. We are in the land of milk and honey and we need to do our part to conserve resources, limit our environmental footprints and do our best to be responsible with the incredible resources we’ve been given access to.
